About MPLC

Built on a different idea of what medical care can be.

Maine Performance & Longevity Center was created around a simple idea: patients who want to take a more proactive role in their health should have the time, information, and medical guidance to do it.

MPLC combines evidence-based medicine with a highly personalized, longitudinal approach—looking beyond a single visit or laboratory result to understand you, identify risk, measure change, and make thoughtful decisions together over time.

After graduating from the Yale University School of Medicine Physician Associate Program, I returned to the Bangor area, where I have practiced internal medicine since 2013.

Over more than a decade of caring for patients, I have seen the importance of strong, evidence-based medical care—and how difficult it can be to address prevention, long-term risk, performance, body composition, nutrition, sleep, and other health goals within the constraints of a traditional medical visit.

I created Maine Performance & Longevity Center to provide the time and continuity to explore those questions more deeply.

Why I started MPLC

Some of the most valuable conversations in medicine happen before someone becomes sick.

Many people want to understand more than whether their laboratory results fall within a reference range. They want to know what their numbers mean in the context of their history, their risks, how they feel, and where they want their health to be five, ten, or twenty years from now.

They may want to improve their body composition, preserve strength, understand cardiovascular or metabolic risk, address changes in energy or performance, or simply know whether they are doing the right things for their future health.

MPLC was created to make room for those conversations.

My goal is not to chase every abnormal number or recommend treatment simply because something can be treated. It is to understand you, use objective information thoughtfully, and develop an evidence-based plan that makes sense for your health and goals.

My approach to care

Your health deserves the time to understand it.

Your health and your goals shouldn’t be limited by a fixed amount of time on the schedule or defined only by what insurance will cover. I created MPLC to have the time to listen, ask better questions, look more closely at the information that matters, and follow what happens over time.

01

Start by listening.

Before I recommend testing or treatment, I want to understand you—your medical and family history, what has changed, what concerns you, how you live, and what you want your health to allow you to do.

02

Measure what matters.

Objective information helps us move beyond assumptions. Every measurement should have a reason for being obtained and a purpose in your care; more testing does not automatically mean better care.

03

Understand the whole picture.

I look at results alongside your symptoms, medical history, family history, body composition, lifestyle, medications, risk factors, and goals. The goal is to understand what the information means for you.

04

Follow what changes.

Where you are today is important. Where you’re headed matters too. By following meaningful measurements over time, we can see what is improving, what is not, and where your plan may need to change.

Outside the office

Health is about participating fully in the life that matters.

For me, health has never been about numbers alone. It is about having the energy, strength, and ability to participate fully in the parts of life that matter most.

Outside medicine, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two daughters, traveling, weight training, golfing, being on the water at our family camp, and staying active in the Maine outdoors. I am also one of the founders of the Maine-based nonprofit Standby to Fly Initiative.

Those experiences influence how I think about healthspan—not simply as living longer, but as preserving your ability to keep doing the things you enjoy for as long as possible.

This isn’t about chasing numbers or promising a longer life.

It’s about helping you remain healthy, capable, and engaged in the life you want to live—for as long as possible.
